BAS and bookkeeping for physios and allied health professionals, without the Sunday-night spreadsheet
Allied health income arrives from four directions at once: patient card payments through the clinic terminal, Medicare or private health rebates, NDIS plan managers paying on 14-day terms, and workers compensation insurers paying when they get to it. Outgoing, it is room rent or a percentage to the practice, AHPRA or association registration, professional indemnity insurance, CPD, consumables and practice management software.
FlowFi reads the statement, sorts each payer and each cost, works out where GST applies (many health services are GST-free, most of your costs are not), and builds the quarterly BAS. You review it and copy the labels into ATO Online.

What FlowFi does for physios and allied health professionals
Sorts patient, insurer and plan-manager income
Card payouts, rebates, NDIS and workers comp payments are recognised as income and kept separate so you can see who owes what.
Handles GST-free services and taxable costs
Most treatment income is GST-free but your rent, equipment and software usually carry GST. FlowFi keeps the two sides straight for the BAS.
Invoices plan managers and insurers
Send invoices with the reference numbers they need and let reminders chase the 14-day and 30-day payers.
Tracks registration, insurance and CPD
Annual renewals and courses are categorised and flagged as deductions when they land in your statement.
Builds the BAS from your statement
Upload the quarter, review the pre-filled figures and copy them into ATO Online.
How it works
Upload your bank statement
Export a CSV or PDF from your bank (CBA, Westpac, NAB, ANZ, Macquarie and most others) and drop it into FlowFi. No bank login, ever.
AI sorts every transaction
Income, expenses, equipment and transfers are categorised, GST is worked out on each line and likely deductions are flagged for you to confirm.
Review and lodge your BAS
Check the pre-filled labels, copy them into ATO Online in about five minutes, or export the pack for your accountant. FlowFi does not lodge for you.

Questions physios and allied health professionals ask
Are my services GST-free?
Many allied health services are GST-free when provided by a recognised professional and generally accepted as necessary for the patient’s treatment. Some services and products are taxable, for example many reports for third parties and some retail items. FlowFi lets you mark income as GST-free or taxable so the BAS reflects your mix. Confirm your position with your accountant.
I only report G1, 1A and 1B. Is that right?
If you use the simpler BAS, which most sole traders under $10 million turnover do, those three labels are all the GST section needs. GST-free income still counts in G1 as total sales. FlowFi pre-fills all three.
Do NDIS payments have GST?
Supports to an NDIS participant under their plan are generally GST-free when the conditions are met. Record them as GST-free income and keep the service agreement. Check the ATO guidance or your accountant if you are unsure about a particular support.
Can I claim my registration and insurance?
Yes. Registration fees, association memberships and professional indemnity insurance are generally deductible in the year you pay them. FlowFi flags them as they appear.
