Bank export guides

Export your bank statement as CSV, bank by bank

Uploading a statement is the safest way to get transactions into bookkeeping software: no bank login is shared and nothing has access to your money. The export takes a minute once you know where the button is. Pick your bank for the steps in internet banking and in the app, the formats on offer, and the date range to choose for a BAS quarter.

Menu names change; if the label differs, look for Export, Download or Statements.

CSV or PDF?

CSV is best because every transaction is one clean row. PDF statements also work with FlowFi, which reads the transaction table out of the PDF, so if your bank or app only offers monthly statements, upload those. OFX and QIF are for other accounting packages and are not needed.

Which dates?

Export the whole BAS quarter in one file so nothing falls between two exports. For a first upload go back to 1 July so your year-to-date figures are complete. The BAS due dates page shows which quarter you are in and when it is due.

Got the file? Upload it and see the quarter sorted

Then upload it to FlowFi and your quarter is categorised in two minutes: GST flagged, deductions marked, and every BAS label ready to copy into ATO Online. Pro is $29 a month or $290 a year, with a 14-day free trial and no card needed.
